Whether you are an experienced Shot, would like some coaching, or are keen to have your first shot, there’s a great range to suit (or challenge) all.

Clays are organised by Pentangle Shooting Services and Sporting competitions by Hazelbank Shooting Ground. Pat, Mark, and the experienced teams are on hand to help and answer questions.

Cartridges will be available for purchase at the main control tent in the shooting arena.

Sporting entries will be at the small tent near the Sporting stands

HAVE A GO

Come to the ever popular Have a Go area where you can try your hand at shooting clays . (Staff will advise on age and size of participant)

Maybe you need some advice on technique you’ll find friendly, qualified instructors on hand so you can enjoy the clay shooting experience.

Cartridges, clays and safety protection are all provided.

POOL SHOOT – small competition on The Clay Line. 

Break all the targets to go through to the shoot-off to win a share of the pool at the end of the day. The highest score wins.

Cartridges must be fibre wad with shot size 28g maximum.

SPORTING COMPETITION in partnership with Subaru

A 40 bird shoot held on each of three separate days with prizes for Open, Club class for b class shooters and below, Ladies and Juniors daily. (Juniors is U18 on the day).

The top winners on each day in the different sections are entered into a shoot off on Sunday afternoon.

The High Gun will win a jacket from Whitehill & Paddock.

SHOTGUN DEPOSITORY

Take advantage of the on-site storage for your shotguns. If you wish to temporarily store your shotgun during the event you must produce a valid shotgun certificate.

Enjoy a lesson from a qualified coach, covering eye dominance, safe gun handling, correct stance, gun fit, gun mount and how to hit a moving target.

The fee includes the cost of cartridges, clay targets, eye and ear protection, the loan of a shotgun and a shooting vest.

BASC Shotgun Safe Shot

To be awarded the Safe Shot badge you must complete the following;

  • A short multiple-choice question paper on safety
  • An empty gun handling section, including crossing an obstacle
  • Prove that you can load and fire the gun safely at a clay target from a shooting cage

BASC Shotgun Experience

As well as lessons, there will also be an opportunity for beginners and experienced alike to shoot informally with a coach in our ‘shotgun experience’.
