The Algo Estate Challenge was conceived to promote and celebrate the many Estates and Keepers who work so hard to conserve our beautiful countryside and preserve our high quality country sports. We very much hope that the Challenge will be an enjoyable, sporting competition. It will include the following disciplines; shooting, fishing and gundog handling.
Want to compete?
Submit a team of six people; 2 members to shoot clay pigeons, 2 members to take part in salmon and trout casting and a further 2 members to compete in a gundog challenge. In the spirit of the event we would hope your team would include staff, genuine pickers up and one member must be the owner, a member of the family or factor. We suggest that no professional clay shots or gundog handlers are selected! There will be no restrictions on what sort of dog competes; be it Spaniel, Labrador or Terrier.
There will be no charge for entry as Algo, by sponsoring the Challenge, has generously covered all costs. All competitors will be given a complimentary ticket to the Fair on the day of the competition.
2020 competition begins: TBC
The competition will be run by Caroline Dingwall, who will be in touch with those estates who agree to enter a team, providing further details of each discipline and timings of the event and answering any queries you might have.
Where possible we would like those competing to wear Estate Tweeds and we hope to have both upland and lowland estates participating. The event provides a great opportunity for estates publicly to demonstrate the skills involved in field sports and I am expecting both small and large estates to take part. I do hope you will feel able to put together a team and join us in what should prove to be a most enjoyable afternoon.
Thank you to our sponsor, Algo, Hull cartridges and Schoffel Country.
