Things are bound to go off with a ‘bang’ as the GWCT Scottish Game Fair celebrates 30 years of championing conservation and the countryside, and particularly during the newly launched competition ‘Best Banger in Show’ with Scotland’s Natural Larder. The fair, which takes place from 29 June to 1 July at Scone, has always been a must-visit for foodies. The ever-popular Food Hall showcases the best Scottish food and drink, and the Cookery Theatre is one of the Fair’s hottest tickets with a packed-programme of well-known chefs and food experts giving demos and masterclasses.
Taking place in the newly launched standalone Cookery Theatre on Saturday 30 June, the prestigious title of Best Banger will be awarded by a panel of top judges. Entries are welcome from businesses and individuals, and each sausage must include game within the ingredients i.e. venison, rabbit, pheasant, duck or pigeon. The organisers are looking forward to some interesting and tasty combinations as well as well-executed classic recipes. The judges will be focusing on taste and presentation, and the winning sausage-maker will be announced after judging.
