AT THE SCOTTISH GAME FAIR

THE MAIN RING

Whatever brings you to the Fair, there’s one area you won’t want to miss. The Main Ring is packed with exciting events over all three days of the Fair, so grab a drink or an ice cream, make yourself comfortable and enjoy the show!

Our commentator is Johnny Morison, who has been commentating at the fair for over 20 years, taking over from the late Jimmy McGregor. Originally Jimmy and Johnny took a top seat in the grandstand, something Johnny describes as being like two owls on a rafter. The current commentator’s booth continues the avian theme – it’s a converted henhouse!

Alongside our firm favourites, 2019 saw some new additions to our Main Ring timetable, including headline act the Jez Avery Stunt Show, an amazing performance on four wheels, two wheels, one wheel and no wheels and the ROLLOVER QUAD! This jaw-dropping show includes wheelies, stoppies, two-wheel driving, drifting, doughnuts and precision driving.

Another highlight was French hunting band, Les Trompes de la Cottenciniere who return to the fair for the first time since 2015. Their infectious sounds and personalities were not to be missed.

They were joined by pipe bands, foxhounds, gun dogs, birds of prey, a tug of war and terrier racing to name a few!
