GWCT Scottish Game Fair welcomes NEW Country Manager to the Team

,

The GWCT Scottish Game Fair, has appointed native Scot David Gibson as its Country Manager handling the event.

David – who has a background in commercial roles – has spent the past four years working in events and has been brought on board to commercially develop the event to ensure critical funds are raised for the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust.

Based in Scotland and having graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in Business in 2013, previous roles have seen him working as part of event management firm Media 10 on Glasgow’s Eat and Drink Festival in Glasgow along with The Cake and Bake Show in London and The Ideal Home Show Scotland.

An avid football fan – he has a season ticket for Rangers FC – David loves country walks with his family’s cocker spaniel Ollie and is a keen hill and mountain walker, loving nothing more than making the most of our beautiful countryside.

He was also part of the interview process for The Apprentice back in 2012.

David said: “My vision is to make the GWCT Scottish Game Fair the largest outdoor event in Scotland, showcasing the very best Scotland has to offer in terms of products, activities and exhibitors, whilst supporting the vital work of the GWCT.

Part of the reason I took the role was the sheer fascination and love I had for the event when I came as a visitor in 2019. Perth and the surrounding areas have always been somewhere I’ve loved going, so the opportunity to work with an event with an amazing scenic backdrop was a no-brainer. The countryside in Scotland is stunning, it’s management and conservation is important to me.

The show offers a wonderful opportunity for individuals to explore the best of what Scotland has to offer, in terms of local food produce, rural sports, Scottish lifestyle brands and so much more. And equally allows rural businesses the chance to engage with a unique 30,000 strong audience passionate about the countryside and its protection. I look forward to working together with our loyal exhibitors to elevate this event even further.”

James Gower, Managing Director of the GWCT Scottish Game Fair commented “David brings a wealth of professional event experience combined with local knowledge and a personal passion for the countryside. We look forward to working with him to continue to build upon the fantastic success of the Scottish Game Fair.”
