A win for the Welsh in the 40-Bird clay competition

It was a successful opening day for Welshman Nigel Hart who won the 40-bird competition at the 32nd GWCT Scottish Game Fair, taking place on Friday 24 September at Scone Palace, Perthshire.

Coming all the way from Monmouthshire, clay shooting coach Nigel shot a very impressive 39×40 before scoring 7×8 in the shoot-off against Ian Marsden to win first place. Using a Perazzi High Tech shotgun, Nigel beat a total of 117 entrants to claim the top spot. Nigel’s son Stuart came fourth.

Speaking after his win for which he received £150 cash, Nigel said: “I’ve really enjoyed com-peting this weekend, especially as it’s my first time attending the event. It’s been good to com-pete against lots of different people and put my abilities to the test in a different enviorment.”
