We caught up with Edinburgh Rifles, a gunshop local to the Scone area and exhibitors at The Scottish Game Fair for several years and asked a few questions.

Who are Edinburgh Rifles?

We are one of the fastest growing independent gunshops in the UK.

What is special about you?

We cater for all elements of shooting sports from pistols, rifles and shotguns, clay to game, stalking to target, indoor and outdoor.

Anything unique?

We are the last surviving gun shop in Edinburgh, serving the UK and overseas clients

How long have you been going?

Since 2018

What sort of clients do you look after?

Everyone from individuals, schools, universities, clubs, estates, national agencies and international customers.

Do you have a worldwide clientele?

Yes we do, export sales to US, Europe, Australasia, Asia

Do you help with aftersales, servicing etc?

We do a wide range of custom services from bespoke load development, rifle set up, shotgun and rifle servicing and repairs.

Do you go deer stalking?

We do! We also manage the sika and roe populations on a 12,500 hectare estate in the Scottish Borders

Which brands do you represent and do you have any antique rifles?

We sell all brands. Yes we have a specialist member of staff who is the Chair of Vintage Arms Scotland rifle club.

How do you help people buy the right sort of rifle?

We are all rifle users with decades experience. We would rather you walk out with the right tool for the job than the most expensive one!

What is the most interesting rifle you have ever come across?

We were published in several national and international newspapers when we reunited a WW2 Mauser rifle belonging to a fallen German soldier in Belgium. (See main image). Prior to the rifle being made public the relatives had no knowledge of where the soldier lay. This rifle had been taken by a British soldier but had been engraved with exact details of the former owner and where he lay. It now sits in pride of place in the Hooge Crater museum in Belgium.
