Fred Taylor Memorial Trophy for Working Hill Ponies

Fred Taylor Memorial Trophy for Working Hill Ponies

We are again proud to host the very popular show of Hill Ponies in their working gear, taking place on the Sunday. Along with their handlers in their estate tweeds, the ponies will be tacked up with either deer saddles or game panniers.

The trophy will be presented in memory of the late head stalker at Invermark Estate in Glenesk, Fred Taylor. Fred was a great enthusiast of working with ponies and it is wonderful to see such support from estates. We expect to fill the Main Ring this year with a record number of entries.

The ponies will be stabled for most of the Sunday in pens where they can be viewed and their handlers will be only too pleased to talk about their work on the hill and the estate from which they come, so give them a visit on your way round the Fair.

The 2017 Winner was Eric Starke from Glenprosen Estate who beat off stiff competition from a field of 19 entries. If you would like to enter the competition please email info@scottishfair.com.
