VOLUNTEERING for 2014

GWCT has always relied upon and greatly appreciated the fantastic support of volunteers. Volunteers make a vital contribution by supporting the Trust as they do to the running of the Fair. The involvement of volunteers at theFair provides essential practical support and broadens the involvement of the public with the Trust while providing volunteers with an enjoyable and enriching experience.

Building on the GWCT Scottish Game Fairís established reputation as Scotlandís best outdoor show and largest game fair, the 26th annual Fair this coming July is set to be as spectacular as ever after its 25th silver anniversary sell-out last year.

This year will see the welcome return of popular events such as the gnat shooting, clay shooting, terrier racing, gun dogs, hill ponies, falconry, fly fishing and more with expert demonstrations and professionals on hand to share their top tips.

2014 could be your year to volunteer and give your time for a fantastic cause and event. We are looking volunteers of all ages to undertake a variety of tasks, from selling raffle tickets and programmes to assisting with the gun dogs and fishing competitions Ė a huge range of opportunities awaits you.

You may have particular skills and interests which are suited to specific tasks or you simply want to be part of an incredibly successful event.† You may not have previously considered involvement with GWCT or have attended the Fair but if you are willing to volunteer we would love you to join us. All applicants will be contacted before being given a role and skills will be matched with the vacancies available. Volunteers receive a full briefing prior to taking up a role, either on the day or in the days before the Fair.

Every volunteer will benefit from free car parking and a half day to explore and enjoy the Fair.

Being a volunteer at the Fair is a great opportunity to boost your CV, be part of one of Scotlandís biggest events, meet new people, help the GWCT and have an incredible amount of fun. A year to remember, Scotland in 2014 is set to showcase some of the finest sporting events in the world and capturing the very essence of Scotlandís great outdoors, shopping and natural larder, the 26th GWCT Scottish Game Fair is not to be missed.†
