2011 Food Hall Stand Competition Winner – Loch Leven’s Larder

This year’s Food Hall will be packed with the finest treats and delicacies.

Speak to and buy directly from the producers and learn about how they create their specialities.

The emphasis will be to show the best of Scottish fayre but there will producers from elsewhere too!

You will find

  • FISH, MEAT and GAME - Smoked, Stuffed, Salami and Sausages
  • DRINK - Flavoured cordials, wines, beers, cider, berry liqueurs
  • SWEET DELIGHTS - Baking, conserves and chocolates
  • DAIRY GOODS - Cheeses, butters, ice cream and yoghurts
  • SOMETHING DIFFERENT - Oils, vinegars, garlic and fresh berries

This is just a taste of what you will find available to buy and try from nearly 50 different stall holders.

The Cookery Theatre will once again be a key feature of the Food Hall and over the three days of the fair there will be chefs and butchers demonstrating their skills using local ingredients. Details of the demonstrations are as follows:

Friday 1st July
10.30 John McGuire will demonstrate venison butchery.
12.00 Nichola Fletcher will be busy cooking venison, trout and pheasant dishes.
14.00 Tom Lewis from Monachyle Mhor will take inspiration from ingredients found in the Food Hall to create dishes using venison and oysters!
15.30 Fiona Burrell will teach fish filleting and bird jointing skills and show us how to use them in her recipes.

Saturday 2nd July
10.30 John McGuire will demonstrate venison butchery.
12.00 Nichola Fletcher will be busy cooking recipes using venison, trout and pheasant .
14.00 Tom Lewis from Monachyle Mhor will take inspiration from ingredients found in the Food Hall to create dishes using venison and oysters.
15.30 Nicola Martin of Hettie’s will be encouraging us all to be more adventurous and using tea as an ingredient in her recipes!

Sunday 3rd July

12.00 Fiona Burrell will teach fish filleting and bird jointing skills and show us how to use them in her recipes.
14.00 Nichola Fletcher will be busy cooking venison, trout and pheasant recipes.
15.30 Peter Gott from Sillfield will be making sausages.
