  4. The Fred Taylor Memorial Trophy for Working Hill Ponies


    • A free-to- enter competition held in memory of Fred Taylor, who was headstalker on Invermark Estate in Angus for more than three decades. 9 ponies and their Ghillies paraded in the Main Ring on the Sunday of the Fair and were judged by Chris Macrae from the Isle of Lewis. All of the ponies were harnessed with their tack for the hill, either for carrying deer or panniers for grouse, and the Ghillies were dressed in their Estate tweed. The 2016 Winner was from Invercauld Estate and the prizes were presented by George Goldsmith himself. Thank you to all of the Sponsors of the event: George Goldsmith, Highland Pony Society and Davidsons Veterinary Supplies.
